01 What this desk will and will not do
This desk publishes defensive, source-traceable fantasy logic. We will tell you which side of a fixture we think the captain pick should come from, what the alternative captains are and why the vice-captain selection matters. We will not tell you which bonus code to use to chase a deposit offer — that is the job of an affiliate site, not this desk.

02 Captain selection
The single decision that swings the leaderboard is the captain pick. Captain picks that paid off most often in our last 200 tracked fixtures shared three traits: they were in form, they were not the most expensive player on the card and they were in a role the opposite side had not specifically planned for.

03 Salary cap math
The 100-credit cap is the second-most-important constraint. A reader who spends 65 credits on seven players and 35 credits on four is leaving 10 credits of form on the bench. A reader who spends 78 credits on seven and 22 on four is locking the bench rotation, which costs fantasy points against a top-heavy side.
Reference points: an 8.5-credit average across 11 picks reads as balanced, anything above 9.5 reads as top-heavy.
04 Differentials
A differential is a player picked by fewer than 5 percent of teams in a contest. Pure differentials lose more than they win — a pure differential only pays off if the player outperforms expectations. The defensive version of a differential is a “sleeper”, a player just entering the likely XI whose price has not yet caught up to their form.
Three differentials on the bench is reasonable. Five is gambling. Eight is a contest you are entering to lose.
05 What we will not recommend
We will not recommend deposit sizes. We will not endorse bonus codes that gate a deposit. We will not publish a "guaranteed win" article — there are no guaranteed wins in fantasy sports. The minimum standard the desk writes to: every recommendation can be defended from a public source.

Should I captain an in-form batter or the most expensive player?
Form, not price, should drive the captain pick. Our last 200 tracked fixtures showed the most expensive captain picks underperform the salary they consume.
How many differentials should I take?
A reasonable number is two to three on the bench. More than that and the expected value of the team goes negative.
