Points system
The complete points system reference for Dream11 cricket — batting, bowling, fielding and the captain / vice-captain multipliers — sourced directly from the platform’s published rules.
01 How the system works in one paragraph
The Dream11 points system assigns fantasy points across batting, bowling and fielding events during a live cricket match. Bonus points apply for milestones and for strike-rate / economy thresholds. Captain and vice-captain multipliers amplify the player’s final score.
A player’s total fantasy score is the sum of every event they participate in plus the milestone bonuses, plus the captain or vice-captain multiplier on top.
02 Batting points
| Batting event | Points |
|---|---|
| Run | 1 |
| Boundary (4) | 4 (in addition to run points) |
| Six | 6 (in addition to run points) |
| Half-century (50 runs) | 8 bonus |
| Century (100 runs) | 16 bonus |
| Duck (dismissed at 0, batters / wicket-keepers only) | −2 |
03 Strike-rate bonus
A strike-rate bonus applies when a batter scores above 50 runs at a strike rate above the threshold. The bonus is 2 points at SR ≥ 130, 4 points at SR ≥ 150 and 6 points at SR ≥ 170. The threshold-and-bonus table is published in the platform’s points system page and refreshed at the start of each season.
04 Bowling points
| Bowling event | Points |
|---|---|
| Wicket (excluding run-out) | 25 |
| LBW / bowled | 25 |
| Run-out (shared credit) | 8 to the thrower / catcher |
| Maiden over | 4 (bonus) |
| 3-wicket haul | 4 bonus |
| 4-wicket haul | 8 bonus |
| 5-wicket haul | 16 bonus |
05 Economy-rate bonus (bowlers)
A bowler economy bonus applies when a bowler finishes with an economy rate below 5 runs per over. The bonus is 2 points at ER < 5, 4 points at ER < 4 and 6 points at ER < 3. The threshold-and-bonus table varies by format — T20 bonuses are tighter than ODI bonuses.
06 Fielding points
| Fielding event | Points |
|---|---|
| Catch | 8 |
| 3-catch haul | 4 bonus |
| Stumping | 12 |
| Run-out (direct hit) | 12 |
| Run-out (catcher / thrower) | 6 / 6 |
07 Captain and vice-captain multipliers
The captain’s score is multiplied by 2× at the end of the match. The vice-captain’s score is multiplied by 1.5×. Every other player contributes 1×.
Captain and vice-captain picks therefore account for the single largest variable in a fantasy leaderboard score — which is why the Captain & vice-captain and Fantasy tips desks spend so much time on the logic.
15 Frequently asked
The questions readers most often send to the desk, with answers rooted in the public editorial standards and the platform’s published terms.
Where is the canonical Dream11 points system published?
On the operator’s own pages under the scoring rules section. The editorial desk reproduces the same numbers from the same source.
Does the points system change season to season?
It can. Small adjustments to the strike-rate and economy-rate thresholds happen at the start of each season. The platform announces any changes before the season starts.
What happens to a player who does not play?
A player who is in the selected XI but does not feature in the actual playing XI is replaced with the next bench player. A player who plays gets points as normal. The replacement mechanism is automatic.
Do bonus points stack with captain multipliers?
Yes. The captain multiplier applies to the final fantasy score, including milestone bonuses. The captain of a century-maker does very well.
